Interactive design and communication for touch devices.
Create an interactive page/screen that expresses the hard and soft qualities of an object of your choice. Use design to communicate those quality with graphics, sound, video and interactivity.
Touch based devices represent a very new and unexplored way for designers to express themselves. The nature of touching something as a way to interact with it is inherent to us as humans. With this in mind the course module is a design problem solving exercise to communicate an objects real and emotional quality through touch interaction.
The course will use Katachi Media's Origami Design tool which allows a designer to create interfaces for the Apple iPad without any coding. This includes interactions, video, audio, and some 3D.
The course work will be judged on uniqueness and quality of design, how well you presented the object and how you used interactivity to communicate an idea. The will be evaluated on how you use the mediums unique characteristics to communicate.
