Watching typography (former title; Creative typography)
A good point about becoming a graphic designer is that work will (hopefully) never become boring. We have to deal with diverse subjects, meet tight deadlines and gain an understanding of different media – from screen to print. Talking about print, we have to regularly 'fit' one issue into various means.
During this workshop our language will be typography. For two weeks you will be dealing with one theme and try to adapt its content to different printed formats, looking at typographic hierarchies next to typographic systems. How do those different formats function – and how can we communicate the given subject with the help of macro- and micro-typographic elements?
The course will contain a series of lectures for visual input and critical analysis.
