Method and Mapping. KHiB Identity

To introduce method and mapping, creation through strategy, and to discover the KHiB identity and context, which could in future involve KHiB ware.

Method and mapping will explore the concept of identity for a complex entity such as KHiB. The idea is to and examine the personality traits and find the significant quirks of character that embody such an institution. Through a series of workshops and interventions we will explore KHiB from a poetic, physical and philosophical position, attempting to unearth new insights and create definitions that expose the paradigm to a more searching and thoughtful discussion. The institution will be rendered human through an anthropomorphic study of its whole and an unconventional translation of this information into a design philosophy.

An important question will be: What is mapped and what is not mapped and not described?

We will also ask: How does the working process in the projects affect the artist’s creativity?

The workshop will introduce theorists who may contribute in different ways, and use creativity exercises inspired by Edward De Bono, TRIZ and systematic creativity tools to facilitate a sophisticated brand identity for KHiB.

The findings of this one week project will provide the base knowledge and understanding to undertake an exiting design opportunity in designing tableware for KHiB that embodies the brand identity.
