Workshop with Jan Svenungsson
In today’s situation visual artists always have to be prepared to express themselves in words. Words spoken and words written down.
It is deeply fascinating but not easy, to try to find ways to translate or reproduce thoughts – which have been produced in the form of images – into words and verbal language.
In this workshop, we will discuss how we put words in relation to our visual work. We will try different strategies to solve the problems connected to it.
The workshop has two group sessions: Thursday-Friday 28-29 January, 2010, and Wednesday-Friday 3-5 February, 2010. The workshop participants will be asked to bring a short text to the first meeting and on the following day they will be asked to write another text, which will be discussed during the second half of the workshop.
Discussion language will be mainly English.
Writing language can be English, Norwegian or Swedish.
It would be preferable if all participants would read my little book ”An Artist’s Text Book” beforehand.
