Digital tools, weave
Goal: gain new knowledge of weave as an artistic medium and insight into options and adaptions for digitally controlled looms.
Theme/content: development of motif using Photoshop. Adaptation of dimensions/quality/texture through construction. Theory and practical experiments using different principles for pattern formation: one, two or more thread systems. Use of functions in Photoshop to draw and define bindings as pattern. Introduction to the TC-1 loom and visit to a company with an electronic jacquard.
Mandatory theory: Compendium/presentations by Jon Pettersen.
