MA2: Master Thesis - how to write a good text
Lectures for all with writing exercise for MA2 students.
Time: Thursday 5 November at 12:30
Place: Marken 37 - Lecture hall or 4th floor Kunstakademiet
First suggestion: Get started as soon as possible! Some of the writing exercises this day will be asking constructive questions ( and give organised response) to your own and others` texts. Are you able to express your main point in your own thesis in a way that makes other people involved?
Presenting strategies and alternatives on how to write a feasible Master Thesis adapted to our Subject Area.
Individual follow-up week 3 and 4 in 2010. Registration just after the lectures in November.
Workform:
A three hour ”kick-off” for working with the Master Thesis.
We will go through "examinor`s check list” and concentrate mainly on the thesis` outline and structural elements. How to catch the reader from topic to focus?

Follow-up:
From other writing courses in MA level we have experienced that individual tutoring in this phase is very important. Students who have started writng their thesis and who need response and tutoring, will be able to get that in week 3 and 4. (Janyary 2010). Registration: Tutor Øystein Hauge (oystein.hauge@khib.no)
Prequalifications:
You should already be working on limiting the thesis` topic. Start thinking of oral presentation for interdisciplinary day.
