Topics: Tutoring, response, rewriting, writing process
Goal:
- discuss individual questions and challenges related to the master thesis
- tools for self-evaluation of your own text (evaluation criteria), learn research based ways of giving response to a text
- individual and group tutoring on limited questions about master thesis
- give and get response in small groups (student tutored)
- organize writing groups that works after the course is over
- discuss topics and challenges regarding research and ethics
- discuss and handle writing problems and understand what makes writing a pleasure
- give the participants the possibility of planning the finishing of master project and master thesis
Content:
The participants present questions and challenges related to writing the master thesis, such as the recurrent theme of the thesis, writing problems, evaluation of text, how to make writing a pleasure.
Everybody should give and get response on each others` texts. Tutoring on parts of the master thesis. Learn research based ways of giving response to a text and how to evaluate your own text.
Organize writing groups and plan the finishing of project and thesis.
Workform:
Tutoring, individual and in groups, text response, presentations and discussions, group work, reading, writing.
NOTE: The course lasts for 3 days:
Day 1:
04.09: kl 12.00–17.00
Day 2 and 3:
12.10: kl 09.00–15.00
13.10: kl 09.00–15.00
Prequalifications:
Prequalification and participation:
The participants are already working on their master project and master thesis. You bring a draft of a chapter (or smaller parts) and have formulated questions you want to discuss in the group.
You should prepare for the course by answering assignments sent to you by e-mail. You send your paper to the coordinator appr 3 days before the course begins. You should spend 2-4 days on your paper.
The course starts 04/09/2009 / Week 36, and ends 13/10/2009 / Week 42
