Self-portrait

”Self-portarit in contemporary art”.
From Edvard Munch to Joseph Beuys and Odd Nerdrum there is a long tradition of modern artist who in different ways are portraying themselves in their works. During these classes we will have a closer look into the relation between self biography and fiction in modern art. How is the artist subject showing in contemporary art? There are a lot of theory about modernism`s and post-modernism`s anti subjective tendencies. Is this true, or can we still find an authoritative ”I” (hidden or concealed) even in contemporary expression?
