Typography – composition

Learning goals:
Gain basic knowledge and working methods in typography and typographical hierarchy. Gain basic skills in the InDesign software and simple image treatment in Photoshop. Increase the pleasure of using writing and layout and gaining a joint understanding and platform for typography and graphic design as communication.

Contents:
Sketch methods, composition, typographical hierarchy, typographical effects and detail typography. Lectures on detail typography, roman/italic, type families, readability, type on screen, etc.


Workform:

Lecture on type theory. Progressive practical exercises in typographical composition and type, with a major communication task at the end. The program teaching is integrated in the treatment of practical problems in the form of lectures and individual tutoring.

Evaluation: frequent in-class reviews of work methods, process, sketches and the finished result.
