3D textile techniques
The period is to give insight into and experience with textile qualities and phenomena as the basis for three-dimensionality, by combining different printing techniques and textile working methods. The course will provide the background for reflection and own choices related to relevant textile expressions. The goal is to test the visual opportunities which the various techniques provide as a basis for working as a textile artist.
Introduction of various working methods to test some techniques that form the basis for mastering the profession and to investigate some areas further, and possibly working with several techniques simultaneously.
Investigation of concepts like stiffness/softness, shapeliness, flexibility, fall, elasticity, and weight using techniques such as cloque, shrinking, joining, lamination, stiffening, etc.
Training in related health, environment, safety (HES) issues.
Workform:
Introductions, lectures and testing in the workshop.
Prequalifications:
Basic printing course, equivalent to BA Textiles 1 or similar.
The course starts 22/11/2010 / Week 47, and ends 03/12/2010 / Week 48
