Art, architecture, decoration

Norway has an active policy on the decoration of public space. How is art organised and administrated in Norway? On a national and regional level? How do artists relate to decoration problems? What discourse is being used in relation to today’s site-specific art and solutions?

The course will give insight into

1) Practice through independent project management of own decoration, with special emphasis on idea development and presentation. Photoshop, model work, spatial analysis, architectural understanding, presentation and budgeting are all vital tools in this process.

2) Historical and contemporary orientations in the field, e.g. visits, assignments and discussions.
