Basic textile printing: COLOUR AND ELABORATION

Study of colour as a phenomenon through theory and practice, to fully utilize the knowledge of colour in 2 and 3 dimensions. Use of textile printing methods aquired in "Introduction Textile Printing I" week 45–46. Also colour in spatial situations

Study of effects: light, darkness, materiality and colour. Use of various art and spatial expressions as examples and guidelines in creativity.

Development of idea and methodical test printing based on own theme, regarding problems on colour and in introduced methods of textile printing.


Workform:

Lectures on related problems. Demonstrations and supervised experiments in the workshop. Test-printing in large and small formats. Visits to workshops.


Prequalifications:

Introduction Textile printing, week 48/49
2D method: patterns and ornamentation, week 4, or similar.

The course starts 31/01/2011 / Week 05, and ends 25/03/2011 / Week 12
