Didactics 1st term
Goals
Core areas of the art and design didactics for PPE in KHiB are planning, organising, carrying through, assessment and documentation of the learning environment and how pupils learn.
Didactics is the practical part of the PPE study.
The study will help the students acquire didactical knowledge, skills and work ethical competence required to be able to lead, assess and develop teaching skills within the various art and design subjects in schools and other institutions, cooperating with pupils and colleagues.
The students will be developing their view on the subject, learning processes and teaching goals and the school's goals. During the second term, the didactics will be focusing on the upper secondary school.
The students will be able to do the following
• Plan and carry through various teaching plans based on the education plans. This is applicable to the subject areas moulding/design and craft in upper secondary school, art and craft in primary and secondary school, or in accordance with teaching plans in other institutions.
• Adjust the lessons to each pupil.
• Be a visible and secure leader who can formulate his/her goals and state the reason for them.
• Make the pupils interested and motivated to do their best.
• Create positive learning situations, identified by respect and consideration for the pupils.
• Be able to assess the pupils' efforts and results, according to teaching plans/subject plans.
• Discuss and develop forms of assessment that are suitable for art and design subjects.
• Reflect on and discuss own teaching plans or those made by others, and initiate development and changes.
