Interdisciplinary workshop – Materials and opportunities
Interdisciplinary workshop – Materials and opportunities
The purpose of this workshop is to increase interdisciplinary cooperation between Dept of Specialised Art and Dept of Design.
The goal is to encourage students in the subject areas Textiles and Furniture to acquire new knowledge, share experience, and explore qualities and possible textile-based constructions combined with other materials. Research is based on available materials and will be performed in workshops of both subject areas, and will relate to opportunities and routines applicable to their use. Participants are encouraged to find alternative sources of materials and bring with them samples to use in their own experiments and/or in interdisciplinary cooperation.
During the course period, several demonstrations will show the opportunities offered by the school's workshops, and introduce some of the suppliers of goods and services in the region. Students will pick one or more materials they find interesting, which can be used in experiments and tested for utilization in a product. The findings of the workshop are presented Tuesday 28 Sept in an in-class review.
