Interior architecture – concept
Interior architecture – public environment, concept. Interdisciplinary project within Visual Communication and Furniture and Spatial Design.
Part 1, week 36 ”Research and user analysis”
During this phase, one student from subject area Furniture Design/Interior Design and one student from Visual Communication will be working together on research and user analysis.
Based on a given project (premises/building), the students will make research and user analysis on the use of the given project, its users/audience, which functions should be established, and what are today`s and tomorrow`s demands/needs (analysis of use, needs, function and situation).
The results should be communicated and presented through sketches in class, week 36 (Friday).
Goals: Research and analysis. Presentation and visual communication.
Part 2, week 37 ”Idea and concept”
Based on the work performed during week 36 – ”Research and user analysis” – the students will continue developing a concept for the use of the area/building and its interior, in cooperation with VisCom students.
Work on areal planning and sketches, and necessary means like lighting, colours, textiles, materials, surfaces and form.
The concept shall reveal new ideas relevant to planning and design, adjusted to the building and the usage.
Referring to defined users or various user functions, the concept will show how users can orientate through information systems or inside the building. The concept should be given a comprehensive, visual identity.
Presented through area planning, collage and sketches of ideas during week 37.
Goals: Idea and creativity, space and means.
Workform:
Project work cooperating with VisCom, tutorials.
Prequalifications:
Passed 4th term BA Furniture and Spatial Design/Interior Architecture.
The course starts 07/09/2010 / Week 36, and ends 17/09/2010 / Week 37
