Interior architecture, public project
”In-depth and carrying out”
Based on the first two weeks of the course "Research and user analysis" and "Idea and concept", the students continue to work on the project; in-depth, developing, carrying out and presentation. Working individually.
The goal is the process within planning; prepare general solutions within design and function, and develop skills in working drawings for communication and presentation. (Study plan, 5.3.1).
Introduction to the planning process of renovation and interior decoration – from research and analysis to idea/concept and the completed result including working drawings, colour and material suggestions, lighting and interior components, emphasising details within interior architecture.
One student from each subject area are working together during the project. During the research phase (week 36) and development of conceptual ideas (week 37), they will be cooperating intensively. During the ”in-depth and carrying out” phase, they will divide the work between themselves but will still be discussing how to develop and carry out the project. Visual Communication (VisCom) students are continuing the project only during week 38–39. It is important that their result is implemented in the architecture/interior works. Cooperation with VisCom will provide more knowledge of visual indentity, orientation and information design.
The following topics will be discussed: Universal design, environment, architecture, space, textiles, materials, colour theory and lighting, planning of interior and architecture. Lectures on planning of interior, architecture and construction techniques in order to give a general introduction to the various areas when planning a building. Tutorials in ArchiCad.
The final result should include: A furnishing plan, ceiling and lighting plan, schematic drawing, section and necessary elevation, perspectives, suggestions for materials and colours. Choice of furniture, interior components and light fittings.
