Logotype
Logotype is a compond of the two greek words "logos", which means "word", and "typos", which means "letter". Today, we use the notion to describe words or names that have been given a certain design.
Logo and logotype design is a very important area within graphic design and visual communication, and is one of the areas which is most difficult to make perfect. A well-designed logotype is a simple visual expression of the name of an organization's identity. The visual language should mirror its profile and philosophy, and it should be designed to make it easy to recognise and acknowledge. A logotype can be developed from an existing font, or a new font can be designed for that particular organization; and it can contain graphical elements.
