Malerikurs med Ashley Hansen: The Painting Process: Canvas... Colour...Creativity

An in-depth journey through the painting process, from making a canvas to making a painting.

Statement

'Landscape and colour drive my work. The paintings are structured by the shapes of places, each unique, in particular coastal-towns with their mix of the natural and the man-made and opposing qualities of solidity and movement. I often work in series, with the paintings feeding each other and allowing all possibilities to be explored. My philosophy is to mistrust what I know: the ambition in each painting is always to find something new, and make a painting that has both vitality and integrity'
