Picture in space
Referring to the students' own pictures and creation of pictures, the goal for this period is to find whether spatial implications and guidelines may be present in the material.
How does art in installations during the last 50 years affect how we make and experience exhibitions today?
Three young artists, former students at the subject area Printmaking, are invited to present their perspectives and works to the group during this period. In different ways and using traditional expressions, they have developed their own language that broadens the picture's frame beyond the classic window and mirror metaphores towards the picture as a thing and action.
Emphasis will be put on individual tutoring and discussions in groups.
Each student will be developing a project which will be presented in a review in class at the end of the period. The picture's interaction with the spatial surroundings will be emphasized. The students are welcome to base their project on a specific space in the school or another specified space.
