Screen – video workshop – subject area New media

The rapid development of consumer technology has made video one of the most widely used tools for journalists and artists today. Social media and file-sharing technology has made time-based media very popular and has made video a critical part of today's discussions on the ”democratisation” of the mass media. Today, video is used as one of several possible media; documentaries, narrative fiction films, multi-channel installation and ”high end” cinematic productions.

This fall term, subject area New media will be offering Screen, a three-fold workshop focusing on video. Philosophical and media related problems will be discussed through workshops, individual work, discussions and displays. Technical knowledge and course is adapted the different phases of the project: start-up, working period and finish. An exhibition of work in progress will complete the entire period.
