Sketch – conversation and inquiry
We know that earlier, the sea went much further into the city. The people expanded housing areas and the quay, and the sea was pushed back. The relation between the city and the sea was gradually changed.
Two distinctive subject areas are combined in a sketching study focusing on a joint object, a physical area with quite clear boundaries, that was affected by the changes between the land and the sea. This area is our laboratory and will be scrutinized and altered.
Goal: Grasp the sketch' different roles as an important story telling tool, either to document something that exists, to interpret, or to express the process of developing an idea. The students will learn that even the slightest change is visible and will change the situation. It is therefore significant.
