Tutorials 2010-11 with Amber Frid-Jimenez
For graduate students specializing in visual communications in the Department of Design. Open to graduate students in other disciplines pending permission.
The purpose of this tutorial is to advise students developing independent research projects for the masters program in design, specifically in the areas of new media, interaction and networked cultures. The tutorial will help students to develop a research methodology and plan for their two-year project. In consultation with the tutor, students will contextualize research within the broader context of art, design and new media theory, as is relevant to the specific project. The tutor will provide practical, theoretical, aesthetic, and ethical guidance, fostering a discursive environment leading to coherent visual presentations and written theses.
