Writing course: Professional writing: Getting started

Time: December 2010, three half days, probably week 49 – (Mon 06 Dec, Tue 07 Dec and Thu 09 Dec), from 12.30.

Workform:
First day: Training. Soft and hard assignments.
Second day: From topic to focus and question. Working on approaches. Use of theory. Key sentences and introduction as a template for the text. Close reading and discussion of good text examples.
Third day: From draft to presentation. How to develop the text. Challenges related to genre demands and the common academic way of writing. How can writing artists contribute to renewal?
Prequalifications:
No pre-qualifications, but everyone should be prepared to share their thoughts and texts with each other. Limited time for these sessions; everyone is responsible to complete the course.
